8 Months Old

Ella Grace,

First thing that comes to my mind this month...You. Are. Hilarious. You keep me and your Daddy laughing constantly! I am just in love with your outgoing personality you have inherited. You are so amazing! And busy! My days with you (which is everyday), absolutely fly by because I am literally chasing you around the house ALL day. But, I would not have it any other way. Yes, I am completely exhausted at the end of the day and when my head finally hits the pillow - or I get to work that night - I usually realize that I have not accomplished even one tiny bit of housework. But that's okay because your Mommy and Daddy are so thankful to have a very happy and healthy child to chase around all day! You are SO smart and learning at such a fast pace. You soak in so much each and every day. It is nothing less than incredible to watch you grow and learn daily.

This month you started babbling and talking! Your first word was...wait for it...Momma!!! YAY!!! So, you can say "mama" and "dada" and lots of other babbles : ) I'm not sure what you go on-and-on about, but I'm sure you do. You are also quite the little sassy lady when you want to be. I love that you have a strong personality, but that might not be so cute in a few years, ha! That's okay though, I look forward to every day with you. You are so precious and the light of our lives. We love you baby girl!

8 Month Stats

Weight: 19 pounds

Length: 27 inches

Clothes size: Still a few 3-6 months, 6 months, and 6-9 months (depends on style and brand)

Diaper size:  3

Daily Routine: You are still waking up around 7 A.M. You nurse right after waking up, then play and lay around in bed with Mommy and Daddy for about an hour. You usually share Mommy's breakfast with her, then lay day for your morning nap around 9-9:30. After waking from your morning nap, you nurse again then we either play or run errands, depending on what day it is. After a small snack/lunch you go down for your second nap around 2:00 P.M. After your afternoon nap, we are just usually hanging around the house, cleaning and cooking dinner. You are starting to stay up a little later now, until about 6:30-7:00 P.M. But when your ready for night-night, you are READY!

Feeding: You still nurse about 4 times a day. However, these nursing sessions have become significantly shorter. Especially, the couple of times in the middle of the day. I'm thinking that is a combination of you eating more solids and being too busy to sit still long enough to nurse. Probably more of the latter, ha! You have eaten SO many different foods! You are not picky at all! And I am SO thankful for that! You eat a lot of whatever Mommy and Daddy eats as long as its not too spicy or something you can't "gum" easily. Some new foods you have tried this month are blueberries, oranges and greek yogurt. You LOVE greek yogurt!!!

Sleep: Still sleeping like an angel, around 12 hours a night! Thank you!!!

Hair Color: Light brown

Eye color:  Light brown

Milestones: You are "cruising" around now! After you started standing last month, it didn't take you long to figure out how to move along things while holding on. You are so strong! It wouldn't surprise me if I was posting that you are walking in the next couple of months! Also, you LOVE to crawl under things. You are so funny. You are always crawling under your exersaucer, the table, end tables, whatever you feel the need to get under.

Your favorite toy: This is so funny to me, but hands down it would be rubber duckies. Yes, as in bath toys! Ha! You are obsessed them! I swear we must have at least 10 floating around here! We have everything from the original yellow "rubber ducky" to a pink princess "rubber ducky" and everything in between. If you see one at the store, you must have it. I need to round them all up and get a picture of them all. You also LOVE drawers! You will play in your drawers in your room (or any drawers...) forever going through everything and dragging it all out. For lack of a better space, I stored some puzzles, DVDs and other toys from Christmas in your bottom drawer a while back. Well, you discovered that drawer full of surprises a couple of weeks ago and you get SO excited to pull it open and get all your goodies out! You are too cute : )
