Ears, Ice Cream & Water!

Ella Grace got her ears pierced today! I won't lie. It was absolutely heart breaking. I cried about as much as she did, just not as loudly. Thankfully though, she did forget about it quickly and then went on about her day as usual : )

Waiting to get her ears pierced

After with her pretty pierced ears : )

Haha! Such a silly girl : )

We went and had a nice outside lunch, then headed home for some fun-in-the-sun

I felt so guilty about my sweet baby's ears (even though she had long forgotten about it) that I shared my chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream cone with her. Needless to say she LOVED it!!!

Then Daddy got out EG's pool for the first time

Which made EG a happy girl!

Standing like such a big girl!

And I had to include this picture of those sweet chubby thighs! i LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

Me & my sweet girl

And what is an afternoon outside without playing in the dirt...

It was a great day! I absolutely live for days like these. They are such a blessing with our busy schedule. We are planning on lazy, rainy days the next two days which are welcomed too. Hope you all had a happy hump day!

Beautiful Days

Not much going on around here lately. We are still having gorgeous weather here in Alabama so we have been spending lots of time outside lately. We love it! I try to get outside with EG every day whether it be the park, zoo, our neighborhood, or just the backyard. Ella Grace loves it outside! It makes her happy which makes me happy : )

But, I just feel the need to point our how jealous I am of my 10 month old's beautiful skin. We sat outside in the yard Sunday and played for about 30 minutes. I had EG pretty well covered (considering the 86 degree weather) and wearing a hat to protect her head and face. She gets a cute little tan. And I...get a little burned. What's up with that!? Seriously though, I am so glad she was blessed with her Daddy's beautiful complexion! She's gonna have a killer tan by the end of summer!

It's that fun time of year when we begin working on our yard : ) Mikey is having to do some not-so-fun digging in the back yard to try to fix a little flooding issue we have, but hopefully this weekend we will be outside doing fun stuff like planting pretty flowers and dragging out exciting stuff like a baby pool and fun sprinklers! YAY! Also, this year I think I am finally going to be super brave and plant me a small garden. We are going to ignore the fact that I pretty much can kill a fake plant, but I am going to try anyway. Have a little faith, right!?

Lastly, tomorrow is a big day for us! I am finally giving in and taking Ella Grace to get her ears pierced!!! I have such mixed emotions about this, but her Daddy really wants them done so I am finally giving in : / I know she will be precious, but I also know it is just going to break my heart and it is going to make my baby girl seem so much more grown up. Prayers please that all goes well and its not too bad on my sweet girl.

We are looking forward to a lovely day with Daddy tomorrow who is actually off work! Yay for a family day : )

Church Nursery

Last Sunday Mikey and I had duty in the church nursey for the first time. If I said I was not nervous, I would have been lying. Honestly, I thought Mikey would just hold and play with Ella Grace, while I was stuck with all the other kids in there, ha! I was wrong though. My sweet hubby did a great job and it went very smoothly : )

The best part about nursery duty was watching EG interact with the other babies. I have noticed how she is so interested and excited to watch older kids but I have not really had an opportunity to observe her with children her own age. It was SO cute watching her interact with them! She was a very sweet friend, and played nicely...but I feel confident in saying that nobody is going to be "running over" her, ha! She also made sure that she wan't left out of anything going on!

At one point we put her and one of the little boys in exersaucers next to one another and they had a "jump off." Too cute. I actually took a video on my phone of their jump off, but since you can see some of the other babies in the background, I am not going to post it on here. But trust me, it was precious. It was SO much fun watching her! I loved watching her play with the other babies and it makes me so happy we have such a wonderful church nursery for her to go to and make friends : )

Zoo...Again!

I am definitely going to have to come up with a more creative post title for these "zoo posts" since we are going to have so many : ) This past week has been a pretty crummy one around here. This Mommy has been very sick for several days, but thankfully I am finally feeling much, much better! Praise! However before I started feeling too bad we took advantage of Daddy going in to work late last Saturday and headed to where else but...the ZOO!

Yes, this is like the 3rd time we've been in 2 weeks, but hey who's counting!? The weather has been absolutely gorgeous lately and Ella Grace LOVES it : )

No zoo trip this weekend though. We are gonna stick around the house and get some things done around here. And also enjoy this beautiful weather that continues! Have a GREAT weekend!

Another Day in the Park

Yesterday was such a fun day! I started a women's Bible study for the first time. YAY! I have wanted to participate in one for a long time, but could never find one that fit into my schedule. But finally, I did! I was nervous because it is from 9-11 which is Ella Grace's naptime, but she did okay. She definitely was not the happiest little girl when I picked her up, but they didn't have to call me to get her, so that's a plus.

Anyways, after Bible study we headed home, had some lunch and I put EG down for her nap. Well, she wasn't having it. So...since it was 75 degrees outside I packed her up back into the car and we headed for a trip to the park!

It was so beautiful outside! She LOVES to swing and she LOVES watching other kids even more! It is so adorable. She gets SO excited to see other children and is always trying to get their attention : ) She had a great time!

It is gorgeous outside today too! I'm hoping we can get out for a walk before I head to work tonight!
