Super Exciting News & Coupons!!!

God has answered so many prayers for us lately! Another blessing upon us...I am now working part-time!!! You have NO idea how excited I am about this! Since I work 12-hour shifts this means I only will be working 2 nights per week! It sounds silly, but that really is sooooo much better than 3 nights a week, especially when you work nights! Of course school is going to take up that extra time, but that's okay because that gives me one more day with my precious angel! So. Stinkin. Pumped. Hopefully I will be able to find time to blog more often than every 2 weeks...

So I have been wanting to get into couponing for a while, but everytime I tried I just got too overwhelmed. I always headed to the store with my handy coupon organizer in hand with a great list and plan only to end up frustrated and just hurrying and grabbing whatever to get us through the week. But with some new found motivation and a little encouragement from a co-worker I decided to try again. Now, let me be clear. I am by no means trying to become an "extreme couponer" nor do I want to. I have no interest AT ALL in doing any major "stockpiling" nor do I have the storage for that, but I am excited to save on items that I would usually buy anyway, for a much lower price. So far, I (and Ella Grace) have made 2 trips with our coupons and list. I was pretty excited after my first trip.

This is my goods from my first trip. This all cost around $50, but I didn't have coupons for all of these items. On this trip, I was more excited at the thought of how little I paid for some individual items (like $.02 for a bottle of Advil, and $.50 for a box of granola bars) rather than my total price.

Today, I took my second trip. And did better!

(And yes, I might or might not have a problem with junk cereal...)

I scored this stuff for a cool $18! Including a FREE box of cereal (my favorite, too!), $.24 for glass cleaner, $.39 for pickles and quite a few other items for under $1! I'm pretty pumped : ) So, I guess couponing isn't so bad after all. Just takes a little extra planning, but it pays off...quite literally. I actually kinda look forward to buying groceries now. Well, that might be a little exaggerated. Let's just say I don't dread it as much. And Ella Grace is a lot happier because the trips are pretty quick! She's not a big fan of grocery shopping, but I can't say I blame her. Speaking of my sweet girl we should close with a picture of her! Only because she is the BEST : )
