Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

When I was little, we always bought real Christmas trees. Going to pick out and buy our tree was always one of the most exciting times of the year for me. I was SO excited to start that tradition when we started our own little family! We always picked real trees when I was younger, but they were already cut. I loved the idea of picking out and actually cutting down our own tree : ) So, Mikey, Ella Grace and I headed out to the Christmas tree farm a couple of days before Thanksgiving to find the perfect tree!

The pretty Christmas tree farm

I gotta be honest with you though, I was a little worried about it being more trouble than fun with a 6 month old. And I was worried it might be a little annoying and lots of work for Mikey. But, we all had the BEST time! It was a cool, but beautiful day! And the tree farm was so pretty. We walked around ALL over the farm checking out all the types of Christmas trees there were (who knew!?!?). After we decided what type of tree we wanted the real serach began.

EG was getting her gear ready...

We kept walking and walking. And walking.  Until we picked one at the very back of the farm by a little pond! It was perfect of course! 8 1/2 feet tall, 6 feet wide and so full and pretty : ) It. Was. Huge. And we LOVED it!

 So, the sawing began...

Daddy sawed and sawed. And EG supervised. Ha!

We had a blast! It was tons of fun and actually very relaxing. They even served us free hot cocoa before we left! Yum! This is a tradition that we will definitely continue forever! I'm so happy that we started with EG's first Christmas and will share this experience every year with her and her little brothers and/or sisters in the future : )
