Nursery Progress: Part 2

Don't get too excited...

I am posting a few more pictures of Ella Grace's nursery. However, keep in mind this really isn't what it's going to look like after it is all put together. We have all the major work finished. Her Daddy added the chair rail and the crown molding before we painted. Also, the color is not really truly portrayed in the photos. We still have to add all her "pinkness" with the bedding, curtains and accessories, etc but so far I am pleased with it! : ) It's SOOO exciting! My momma has made all of her bedding and I can't wait to see it! We are traveling down south this weekend to visit my parents and hopefully bring back all of her bedding!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!

My lense isn't wide enough to get a good view of the whole room so I just took several shots from different angles...

This is what you see when entering her room (above)

This is the view aross the room from where her rocker will be...by the window...
That door is her closet

View from the same place as above, except it's looking out the door from her room

View from across the room from other corner...by her changing table

And I just had to include this because I love it!
My momma bought her this painting we are eventually going to hang, and her Daddy and I made the bunny for her at "Build-A-Bear" the day we found out we were having a little GIRL! You can't tell in the picture but I had her initials monogrammed on the bunny's shirt! So precious : )

Nursery Progress: Part 1

So I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of the nursery progress. We are now finished with the chair rail, crown molding, and painting but we still have all the decorating to do. This post includes pictures of us working on the molding and painting, etc. I am SO excited! I absolutely cannot wait to see the finished product!

I totally forgot to take "BEFORE" pictures and since Mikey put up the chair rail while I was at work I didn't get any pictures of the nursery before he added that, but you still get the idea.

So these are pictures of the room after the chair rail went up...

I hate that I couldn't get pictures without furniture sitting in the middle of the room, but it was too heavy for me to move

Daddy hard at work : )

Now for some pictures of the crown molding Mikey added...

Crown molding AND chair rail...

I will explain the grafitti on her wall in a moment...

Painting time...

I obviously had a really hard time picking out the perfect color...you can't really tell in the pic, but this is just a variety of all the creams, pinks, and greens we tested...

And again...

We have plenty of samples...and even a whole gallon of one color...that we ended up not using! I'm indecisive, what can I say!? And...it could be no less than perfect, duh...

Pay no attention to me, my fat arms, and bloated face...At least Ellie is cute : )

More pictures to come on tomorrow's post!

Celebrating My Valentine 2011

We had to celebrate Valentine's Day this past Friday because Mikey is working tonight (Monday night) : (    I don't mind so much not "celebrating" Valentine's tonight, but being at home all alone tonight is pretty lonely and frankly, it stinks! Oh well, things could be a lot worse I know. Anyways, Friday night we went to dinner at Firebirds, a restaurant we have been wanting to try for a long time. It was really good and the atmosphere was nice too! Of course Mikey gave me an awesomely sweet card, as he always does, and snuck some absolutely gorgeous diamond earrings on the table while I was reading my card! He spoils me SO badly! We just spent the rest of the night hanging out and relaxing together : )

Today, on Valentine's Day I had to work of course and Mikey has to work until 9 tonight so we only got to have a quick afternoon snack together while he came home on his break. As if the earrings weren't enough, he brought me home some pretty roses, a new adorable mug ( i LOVE mugs!), and another super sweet card. Ella Grace and I are such a lucky girls! She has no idea what an amazing Daddy she has, and how spoiled rotten she is going to be!

Not pictured: my earrings because they are too busy being worn : )

Happy Valentine's Day!

In honor of Valentine's Day, it is only appropriate to have a mushy, gushy post about your better half, right!? Of course!!! So here we go, this post is just that, dedicated to my best friend, my soul mate, my rock, my everything. I truly do thank God every. single. day. for my husband. And to him, I want to say thanks.

Mikey,

I just want to say thank you. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for always protecting me. I know I will never have to go without anything because no matter what it takes, you will always provide for our family. Thank you for being fun, always making me laugh, sometimes making me cry (in a good way!). Thank you for accepting my faults and short-comings and always filling in my "blanks." You are truly the "other half" of me and I would be totally lost without you in my life. Thank you for inviting me into your beautiful family. Thank you for becoming part of mine. Thank you for the opportunity to start our own little family so very soon! I absolutely cannot wait to watch you become a Daddy, and for you to love her like you do me. Thank you for making these "struggling years" of growing up so much fun, exciting, and memorable. We have experienced SO much together in only a few short years. Thank you for the past 3 1/2 years of memories. Thank you for making me grow as a person. Thank you for making me want to be a better wife.
