YUMMY Goodness

A fellow blogger of mine requested my recipe for the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies seen HERE. And I figured since I had nothing worth blogging about today I would post it for anyone who is interested. I have to warn you though...they are pretty sweet. They taste like oatmeal cream pies without the cream...and with chocolate chips : ) So here you go...

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 1/4 cup softened butter
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3 cups oatmeal
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375 degrees.

Beat together butter and sugars in large bowl until creamy.

Add egg and vanilla and beat well.

Combine flour, baking soda, salt and spices in a smaller bowl.

Add flour mixture to the butter/sugar mixture and blend well.

Stir in oats and chocolate chips.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoon onto greased OR nonstick cookie sheet.

Bake for 10-12 mintues. Cookies should look slighty moist but starting to brown when done.

Makes approximately 56 cookies.

SHOW US YOUR LIFE: Favorite Shopping Spots

So here we are again...Show Us Your Life Friday! This is an exciting post for me! I love being able to check out other people's post at Kelly's Korner to get ideas about each topic every Friday. I have several favorite shopping spots, but I will start with my most recent obsession. I know this one is not new to many, but it is to me...ETSY!!!!! I love!! I love, Love, LOVE handmade things and thats basically all this site has! Etsy has the MOST adorable children's clothing and accessories I have EVER seen! When we have children, I may go bankrupt because of Etsy, ha! I even had Mikey checking it out yesterday : )

I bought this adorable hat from there for my best friend Kacey, who is expecting a little girl in March : )

I shop at lots of different stores such as Target, Forever 21, TJ Maxx, J Crew, Buckle, and others. However, my "go to" store has to be the Gap! I love the Gap...I love their style, the way the store is set up and what I love the most is that they ALWAYS have good sales! I hardly EVER (probably never) pay full price for anything in Gap because it always ends up being like 40% off in a few weeks. That makes me happy : ) I was just in there last weekend and spotted lots of cuteness for spring, but of course I must wait until the spring stuff goes on sale!

So, these are some of my fav shopping spots! What's your's?
