September Review

This post is a sequel to THIS POST. I thought since I posted these goals I would give you all an update on how I did. Well, all in all I think September was a pretty awesome month! We started off the month with college football season starting (YAY!), took a relaxing trip to Ellijay, GA, found out we were going to be parents : ), and I decided to take a different job that I think will work so much better for Mikey and I! Here are my goals and how I did...

1. Relax more - I get an A++ for this one! Ha! I have been relaxing a little too much lately, ha! We started this one off right with our trip to the mountains where I found out I was pregnant! Then these past 2 weeks all I've wanted to do is sleep, sleep, sleep! And I have a lot!

2. Take more pictures - I didn't do so great on this. I took a few at the park one day. Then I took several on our trip, but if it wasn't for the trip I probably wouldn't have taken many at all.

3. Spend lots of time outside - We have spent a good amount of time outside this month : ) We enjoyed our outdoor fire pit a couple of times, but then it got too hot again! It is much cooler this week, so hopefully this cooler weather will stick around and we can hang outside more!

4. Blog more - Done better with this also. Except, I must confess that taking a trip and founding out we are pregnant helped with this one : )

5. Read one good book for enjoyment - I never picked up a novel or anything like that, but I've been reading several books about pregnancy and I'm enjoying that : )

I think I might keep this goal thing up in October too! It was nice for me to have a few things to work towards so at the end of the month, I feel like I've accomplished something : )

Our First Ultrasound : )

Yesterday, we got to see Baby C for the first time : ) It was so amazing! I've never seen anything so exciting/beautiful/sweet : ) We had an early ultrasound to check for multiples since my HcG was super high, but thankfully there is only one bean cooking in there! Don't get me wrong, I would feel totally blessed to be pregnant with twins, but totally overwhelmed, ha!

Everything at this point looks great! We got to see the heartbeat and much to our surprise, we even got to HEAR the heartbeat!!! At only 6 weeks!!!! Yes, my baby is an overachiever : ) I'm very proud! Baby C's heartbeat was 122 beats per minute, on the lower end for a baby which some say signals a boy, but then again we are only at 6 weeks...we shall see...

Baby C measured 6 weeks, 2 days and I was actually 6 weeks, 1 day so again...overachiever : ) The doctor was very pleased and informed us that 85% of pregnancies where the heartbeat is heard this early, are successful pregnancies : ) So, the odds are in our favor! I wasn't able to make an appointment with the OB yesterday because they closed early, but looks like I won't be able to make it back until about 9 weeks because of my schedule : ( I can't wait to see my little baby again!!!

Here is the very first picture of our sweet baby : )

Sleep? Okay...not so good during the day when I'm working : (

Foods I am loving? No cravings yet, but since my appetite has decreased a lot these past 2 days I have only wanted soup, pizza, or cheese toast

Foods I am hating? Nothing yet

Best moment this week? Sharing the news with the people I work with : )

Crimson Tide Updates

There is still one important part of our second evening of the trip that has yet to be discussed...

24 - 3

This game was a great way to end our little mini vacay : ) This is the first time that I can ever remember playing Penn State. They are a pretty good football team, but the Tide just blew through this game! I decided to picture Trent Richardson because he was definitely the MVP of this game! He is a GREAT football player : ) Roll Tide!

Now on to yesterday's game...

ALABAMA vs. Duke
62 - 13

This was a fun game to watch...for the first half. Alabama dominated Duke! We scored like 3 touchdowns in the first half of the first quarter! I don't wanna speak to soon, but BAMA is looking mighty pretty this season...maybe even better than last year! But...we still have a loooong way to go and an entire SEC season ahead of us.

Mark Ingram, Alabama's first Heisman trophy winner, made his season debut yesterday after a minor knee injury and well...he didn't look injured at all! He was amazing as always! One of our key defense players also played his first game of the season yesterday and did super! I just LOVE Alabama football and I can't wait for the rest of the season!

I'm looking forward to diving in to the SEC season next week! Starting with Arkansas...should be a good game! I am currently working my very long, loooong, LOOOOONG 4 night stretch so you might not hear from me for a few days : ( But we are SO looking forward to our first ultrasound next Friday : ) : ) : )

Have a good Sunday!

Our Fabulous Weekend Getaway: Day 2...continued

After finding out our very exciting news on the second morning of our trip, we definitely didn't get into the hot tub to start our day, ha! We decided to head "downtown" and check out what this little town had to offer. The downtown square in Ellijay was really cute. There were lots of antique shops, restaurants, and other stuff. I wanted to take some pictures there, but it was waaaaay too crowded!

I wanted to buy a little something for our baby we just found out about, so we decided on a nursery rhyme/prayers book from one of the shops. I might be a little overboard I know, but I don't care. That's me for ya! Ha! I wanted to have something to commemorate this HAPPY day with and also to remember when and where we found out : )

After lunch back at the cabin, we decided to just take a drive and look for somewhere to take pictures. We finally picked a spot and shot these photos.

We then saw a sign that pointed down a slighty creepy path through the woods to "Laurel Falls." So, we figured what the heck...let's check it out. It was definitely a bit sketchy looking and it was not my idea of a waterfall, but we took the hike so I took a picture...

Too bad Mikey wasn't paying attention...would have been a great picture!

You will notice my frizzy/curly hair as a result of our little "waterfall hike"...ugh...

After our mini photo session we headed back to our cabin, grilled lots of yummy food and watched ALABAMA football!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!! I will leave that post for tomorrow : )

All in all, it was a wonderful day! We were just on cloud nine all day that day since we had found out that morning I was pregnant : ) We could have sat in a cardboard box all day and still have been happy! Ha!

Our Fabulous Weekend Getaway: Day 1...continued

Okay, here we are again. Now that I have shared our super exciting news HERE and started my weekly updates, we shall continue the posts on our trip to Ellijay, Ga, that I started last weekend! So, lets's go back to the first afternoon we spent there. You can catch up HERE if you missed the first post.

After our scenic ride with the dogs and deer, we finally found a little park by the river. We just let the dogs run around a bit and snapped these pictures on the swinging bridge...

I love this one : )

Toby was too busy exploring and smelling everything to have his picture taken, ha

There was a wedding about to start in this park, so we relocated to another area where we took these pictures...

Ellie giving kisses : )

"Take 2" for our family photo

That concludes Day 1 in Ellijay, GA! The rest of the evening was spent eating, relaxing, and enjoying the hot tub at our cabin in the mountains!

5 Weeks!

I do realize that these "pregnancy update" posts can be totally boring to some people so if you have no interest whatsoever, I won't mind at all if you wanna skip these! They are mainly for me and Mikey anyway : ) I can't believe I am finally able to do this! I'm so excited! Also, another disclaimer...I am completely aware that my "belly shots" are not attractive. I almost didn't post them, but I really want to have them to look back on and compare. And lastly, most of these questions don't apply yet, and won't for a while so these might be a little boring for a few weeks for some people. Okay, the warnings are over. So, here we go...

How far along? 5 weeks!

Baby's size? Size of a sesame seed

Weight Gain? None yet. My starting pre-pregnancy weight is 118 pounds. Hopefully, I won't add too much to this, ha!

Maternity clothes? Nope.

Stretch marks? Not yet. But I am 99.9% sure I will have them : (

Belly button in or out? In

Sleep? Good! When I am home at night and not working.

Foods I am loving? Everything I loved before I was pregnant

Foods I am hating? Everything I hated before I was pregnant

Best moment this week? Seeing a positive pregnancy test!!! And sharing the news with Mikey (actually that was last week, but still...) Receiving the doctor's phone call telling me I was definitely pregnant, with a super high HCG level : ) And of course sharing the news with our family!

Movement? Of course not.

Symptoms? Not yet...

Gender? Who knows!?

What I miss? Nada!

What I'm looking forward to? Our first ultrasound next week : ) : ) : )

Our Fabulous Weekend Getaway: Day 2

I still have lots more pictures to post from "Day 1" but I am super excited to move on to "Day 2" and you will find out why, soon. What looked like was going to be a boring, but relaxing day turned out to be one of the most exciting, B-E-S-T days of our lives (so far...) after we found this out...

I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We found out on September 11, 2010, that we are going to have a little blessing!!!! I wish I knew the words to express our happiness, gratefulness, astonishment, excitement and all the feelings in between those, but I just do not believe those words exist. I have never talked about our journey to conceive on the blog. Actually, we really never discussed it with anybody but it was kind of a long journey. We have been "trying" for over a year and I recently received the unfortunate news that I most likely was suffering from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). But thankfully, it looks like that diagnosis was wrong and the amazing God we serve has given us this opportunity, like no other, to become Mommy & Daddy!!!!

I know that it is super early (I am 5 weeks tomorrow), and lots can still go wrong, but there is NO way we could keep this a secret! I know the Lord holds everything in His hands and no matter what happens, He will be there with us every step of the way : ) So, I have nothing but positive thoughts and prayers!

Okay, so about the posts on our trip...they have obviously taken a detour, and for a GREAT reason! Tomorrow will start my weekly pregnancy updates and then Friday I will resume posting about our trip : ) I am SO happy I am finally able to blog about this! I hope you all enjoy following our "pregnancy journey"!

Happy Hump Day : )

Taken the day we found out we are going to be parents : )  SO HAPPY!!!!!!!

Our Fabulous Weekend Getaway: Day 1

Yesterday we returned back to home-sweet-home from our first trip to the Georgia mountains. We took a much needed trip to just r-e-l-a-x but we mainly took the trip for Mikey's birthday which is tomorrow!!! We drove to Ellijay, GA where we stayed in a very pretty, very cozy cabin for just us two : ) Well, and the 3 pups. This is actually the first vacation we have taken with the dogs and they were actually very well behaved! I think they enjoyed it just as much as we did, ha! We enjoyed being able to take them along too. The first night, we just settled in, bought some groceries, watched football and relaxed! It was great!

Unfortunately, the first morning I woke up very sick with a cold, but I didn't it stop us from having a great time! First, we jumped in the outdoor hot tub for a bit after breakfast. Talk about a great way to start the day...I have never been a big fan of hot tubs, but it felt pretty good to get in there on a cool morning before getting the day started! Then we got ready and headed out to take Mikey golfing...right after a trip to the drug store...I did not take many pics while at the golf course, but here are a few I snapped.

After golf, we headed back to the cabin to pick up the dogs and take them out to explore and snap some pictures. While driving through the "resort" we saw tons and tons of deer. Literally over 100 the 3 days we were there! They were so cute! They just look at you like you and continue on about their business, ha!

They are kinda hard to see, but this was someone's yard and there were like 8 deer just laying there in the daylight, like they were their pet dogs or something. It was pretty funny : )

Toby, Ellie, and Charlie enjoyed the scenic ride too : )

I have lots more pictures to post from this first afternoon we spent there. I don't want to overload this post, so it is to be continued...

Counting down...

This time tomorrow I will be mere hours from being here...

Enjoying the mountains, peace & quiet, and lots of quality time with my most favorite person ever : ) I couldn't be more excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One more night of work...

Another wonderful part of our GREAT weekend!

After having a tough day, I had a wonderful hubby who surprised me with these beauties on Saturday!
I'm a lucky girl : )
