Last Day of Father's Day Weekend

We have finally come to the end of our wonderful weekend we spent at the lake : ) The last day was spent just relaxing, having lunch together and of course, what would any vacation be without a trip to the nearest Bass Pro Shop!? (for the Coop boys that is...) I didn't get any pictures of us at lunch or Bass Pro : (

After Matt, Liz, and the boys headed home, Mikey, I and his parents headed back to the condo where we took one last boat ride...

The condos where we stayed! So pretty : )

Father's Day Weekend - Night 2

I really didn't think our weekend at the lake would turn into 4 posts, but that's what happens when you have as much fun as we did : ) So, today I am posting pictures from our second night we spent at our condo on the lake! There was a beautiful view of the sunset from our balcony! We made drinks and played Phase 10 outside after the babies went to bed : ) So MUCH fun!

Waaaaay Over Due!

I got to looking through some pictures on my computer this morning and realized that I have never posted pictures of the "hall tree" Mikey built for our living room!!! Ah, shame on me!!!! One thing I absolutely cannot stand is wearing shoes in the house...eeewww! SO gross! And...unfortunately we do not have a "coat" closet or any storage area immediately by our front door for our shoes/purses/coats/etc...

I knew when we first moved in that I wanted to put a "hall tree" in our living room by the front door but also knew these could be a bit pricey. One day during one of our routine trips to Lowes, I was flipping through a magazine (as always...) and spotted none other than...a hall tree!!! : ) So, of course I put my love to work, ha! He did such a great job and it serves the purpose SO well!!! I am still hunting a cushion to sit atop the bench seat, but having trouble finding the correct size. Looks like I may have to make one myself...Anyways here are a few pictures to share...

Notice the pull-out "drawer" on the bottom for shoes...perfect!

Now, I gotta go pack for the weekend at the lake : )

Where Oh Where...

did my weekend go!?!?!?

WOW!!! These past few days have been quite exhausting! Friday night I had to work and I had the most awful, I repeat AWFUL night of work EVER...in my career : ( But on the bright side I bet I burned 2 days worth of calories in 12 hours, ha! No word has ever been created to describe how drained I was by the time I made it home (45 minutes late I might add...) yesterday morning.

A couple of our friends from college got married last night so my sleep time was cut super short so we could attend. It was an outdoor wedding and at a beautiful venue but I have never sweated that much in my life!!! It was HOT!!!! We had a good time though and I am SO glad we went. It was nice to see some friends we haven't seen in a while : ) After the wedding, Mikey and I had a glass of wine outside, talked and spent our hour or so together for the week, ha! So sad...

Mikey was back at work all day today. I had to catch up on schoolwork and go grocery shopping...story of my life...I swear, how does food disappear so quickly!?!? We enjoyed a yummy dinner out on our patio tonight, took the puppies on a walk and here we are. It's already 10:00 p.m., we should both be working on homework but I'm blogging and Mikey is watching the Tony Awards...wait...what!?!?!? What is my husband doing watching the Tony awards!?

Anyways...another busy week ahead. Working the next 3 nights but...there is a light to come...we get to spend the weekend with our family : ) : ) : ) and not just anywhere...on the LAKE!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!! I canNOT wait!!!!!!! Come on WEEKEND!!!!!

Sew Much Fun!

Yes, you will have to excuse me for the corny post title, ha! I couldn't resist : ) So, I we finally finished the first sewing project! It has actually been finished for about a week, but I just got the chance to take pictures yesterday and just now getting a chance to post them...I've been a busy lady lately, whew!

Okay...let me be honest...

This roman shade was a total pain in my butt to make. However, I am fully convinced that I picked the worst pattern EVER! I have sewn a couple of simple things before. My momma is a GREAT seamstress and has taught me a couple of things over the years (when I would listen), and I am pretty good at following directions so I thought this project wouldn't be so bad. Well, that may have proven to be true had the pattern actually come with directions that made sense!!! I was great with the actual sewing part of it, but the rest was total jargon to me...made NO sense!

So, I had to recruit some help...

Luckily, I am married to a super smart man who can fiigure out just about anything! We worked together over the span of a few weeks, maybe months (only because we never have time off together...) and it finally came together : ) I was in a hurry when I took the pictures so the pictures aren't the greatest, but here is the debut of my first major sewing project...

Well, there you have it...

I will definitely be working on more sewing projects in the future, but hopefully something a little less confusing : )
